Most employees across India are subscribed to the Employees Provident Fund. A monthly deduction rom their salary along with the employers contribution is deposited in their Provident Fund account. Till now checking your PF balance has been a chore.
Having considered this, EPFO has made it simpler to know EPF balance. Now, employees can inquire about their EPF account balance via just a missed call. The organization provides this service at no cost to all EPF members.
In order to use this facility, an employee should have,
- A valid UAN number,
- A mobile number registered with the EPF account
With these details in hand, one can give a missed call on 011 229 01 406. After a while, he/she will receive an SMS containing the employee name, age, EPF account number, and the balance.

- EPF Passbook
New EPF members who wish to avail this service need to activate their UAN number and register a mobile number on which they intend to receive alerts. Complete the KYC process by linking your PAN or AADHAR number and bank details.
Please note that the balance alerts shall be sent on the registered mobile number only.
